During the first two years, BJTU faculty provide parallel academic tutoring and language support to help students achieve breakthroughs in both English proficiency and disciplinary knowledge. This phased approach helps students adapt to an international learning environment and builds a solid foundation for future graduate studies or global career development.

4

Dual-Supervisor System to Strengthen Research Training

During the final-year thesis stage, the program implements a dual-supervisor model, with faculty from both BJTU and TU Delft jointly responsible for topic guidance, process supervision, and final evaluation. Thesis topics align closely with industry trends and academic frontiers, emphasizing the integration of theory and practice. Students are systematically trained in problem identification, research methodology, and innovation-oriented thinking.

5

Frontier Curriculum Aligned with Industry Trends

Reflecting the “Transportation + Intelligence” development trend, the curriculum offers two tracks: Railway Transportation and Urban Transportation. Courses cover key areas such as transportation organization, traffic planning, intelligent scheduling, travel behavior analysis, and transportation system modeling. The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary integration and systems thinking, equipping students with strong adaptability to emerging technologies and new industry developments.

6

Broad Prospects for Graduate Studies and Career Development

Since the establishment of the program, graduates have demonstrated outstanding academic and professional potential. Approximately 41% of students pursue master’s degrees at QS Top 50 universities worldwide, while 16% continue their studies at top domestic institutions such as Tsinghua University and Peking University. Other graduates join leading organizations, including national railway groups, international consulting companies, and multinational mobility technology companies, embarking on careers in research, policy analysis, operations management, and related fields.
